Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage (MLD)

  • Manual lymphatic drainage massage is a gentle manual therapy that relieves painful swelling caused by excess fluid, or lymphedema, after an illness, surgery for breast cancer, joint replacements, plastic surgery, sprains, falls, or other surgery.

  • Lymphedema happens when your lymphatic system is blocked and your tissues retain fluid left behind after your cardiovascular system sends blood to your tissues and organs.

  • Normally, your lymphatic system collects your lymph and returns it to your heart through your lymphatic vessels and lymph nodes.
  • When your lymphatic system is disrupted, your lymph collects and causes swelling, discomfort and pain.

  • This gentle manual therapy activates the lymphatic system and directs fluid into it to be processed naturally, relieving swelling, discomfort and pain.

  • Lymphatic drainage massage is also effective for enhancing wellness and detoxification.

  • In addition to traditional lymphatic drainage I am also trained in Visceral Lymphatic Balancing.
The viscera are the organs of the body and the tissues that comprise the organ system.

This work is beneficial after abdominal laparoscopic surgery, other abdominal surgery, surgery on
organs, accidents and falls, major and chronic illnesses
